Aksay Lackoo
Mauritius & University of Cape Town, 2018 Aksay is a Mandela Rhodes Scholar of Class 2018 and holds a Professional Masters of Law in International Trade from the University of Cape Town. He has been working in the financial services industry since 2016 and works mainly in product development and strategic research encompassing industry benchmarking and market analysis. His current role involves coordinating enterprise-wide initiatives and performing specialized analysis and research at the MCB Group in Mauritius. His interests are on one side around using technologies as enablers to drive transformation and change in different spheres whether industrial, social or environmental and on the other side, around having a different narrative to global trade and in particular to intra-African trade. Aksay is passionate about driving strategic initiatives using frameworks, tools and methodologies and shares an entrepreneurial mind-set. He aspires to be a visionary leader with cross-functional and cross-fields skills sets, knowledge and know-how. He has co-founded several projects which use technologies and digital tools as enablers and that are currently work in progress.
