Angela Koroma
Sierra Leone & University of the Witwatersrand, 2025 Angela holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Honors) in Global Challenges from the African Leadership University (ALU) in Rwanda with an emphasis on Environmental Conservation. Angela is interested in creating a sustainable waste management venture to protect Sierra Leone's environment, while donating portions of its profit to campaigns and initiatives protecting children, who often suffer from bullying and abuse. This vision is rooted in her belief that every child deserves a chance to thrive in a supportive society, contributing to social justice, economic development, and inclusive society. She is currently developing a tree planting initiative that has the potential to make Freetown a sustainable green city by 2045 through planting over 1,000,000 trees and flowers around Freetown to help reduce the city's vulnerability to climate change. As a Mandela Rhodes Scholar, Angela will pursue an MSc in Environmental Science, focusing on conservation to drive environmental sustainability, while contributing to climate resilience in Sierra Leone, Africa, and the world at large.
