Emili Yondu
Tanzania & University of the Witwatersrand, 2025 Emili holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS), Tanzania. He is a member of the social committee at MUHAS, School of Pharmacy, responsible for organizing social events, fostering team cohesion, commemorating achievements, promoting well-being, and improving communication. Emili dedicated his expertise as an External Expert for the Tanzania Medicines and Medical Devices Authority (TMDA) on a part-time basis, diligently evaluating drug registration dossiers for new and generic drugs. This endeavour ensures the accessibility and availability of quality-assured, effective, and safe pharmaceutical products in Tanzania. He served as a co-investigator of a regional research grant project, which focuses on exploring Access to Quality Assured Anti-infective Medicines in Humanitarian Crisis-Prone Regions of the East African Community. As a recipient of the Mandela Rhodes scholarship, Emili will pursue a Master of Pharmacy degree by research in regulatory science, providing new insights, addressing public health concerns, promoting innovation and evidence-based decision-making, and advocating for the highest quality and safety standards in medical products and environmental health.
