Fatima Docrat

South Africa & University of Cape Town, 2018

Fatima is a policy manager, ex-Bain strategy consultant and health economist in CEPI's External and Investor Relations Division. CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations) is a global partnership working to accelerate the development of vaccines and other biologic countermeasures against epidemic and pandemic threats. In her role, Fatima engages in the global health ecosystem on policy areas including health financing, regional manufacturing and end-to-end vaccine access. Prior to CEPI, Fatima worked at The Global Fund, an organisation that aims to end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. There she led teams across the Secretariat on their most critical projects, applying best-in-class problem-solving and project management skills to accelerate performance and impact.

She holds a MSc in International Health Policy (Health Economics) from LSE, where she conducted research on the drivers of vaccine hesitancy in the UK, particularly for minority groups, and developed strategies to decrease hesitancy. She produced this research for the UK Department of Health and Social Care Strategic Unit, demonstrating her ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and apply her analytical and behavioural insights to real-world challenges. Before pursuing her master's degree, she worked as a senior associate consultant at Bain & Company, where she honed her strategic thinking, communication, and leadership skills. She is passionate about working in organisations with missions to achieve a healthier, more equitable world for all.
