George Mbella Teke
Cameroon & Stellenbosch University, 2018 George hails from Limbe, a small city located in the Southwest Region of Cameroon. He is a dynamic leader with his B.Sc.Eng. (Hons) in Chemical Engineering and passionate about food security, waste valorization, biofuel generation and quality leadership. With over 8 years of experience as a chemical and bioprocess engineer, his current work is centred around sustainable development of bioproducts as seen in several top publications and conference lectures on his research sphere. He has handled several responsibilities ranging from research and production manager of Emerald Research Group, Quality Control Personnel at Source du Pays Cameroon and Secretary-General of Global Alliance for Youth Empowerment Cameroon. He is currently an Executive Leader at Rubix, Stellenbosch, South Africa. After travelling for several international programs on Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Social Businesses, he designed different leadership curricula, hosted and acted as a lead trainer in several leadership and entrepreneurship camps from 2015 until the present. With his privilege towards receiving awards and honours Home or International as a solo or a team, he has been a participant in a host of workshops and conferences (home and internationally) and has mentored/still-mentoring (to Cameroonians and Africans) many Young African on effective leadership and mindset entrepreneurship to circumvent our present African challenges. Aside from studies, he is also a YALI, SUSI and MRF alumni, with experiences in leadership, entrepreneurship and system thinking. He is also a creative and innovative independent thinker, currently focused on his Doctorate Research in the Department of Process Engineering at Stellenbosch University, as he works on reducing up to circa 40% of our present bioproducts problems through his research on a novel bioreactor design. At the same time, he loves a host of extra-curricular activities like soccer, singing, reading, tennis, current events and travelling.
