Gleris Wagura
Kenya & University of Cape Town, 2025 Gleris holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in Kenya. Her projects, such as developing an Arduino-controlled hydroponic system, reflect her technical proficiency in IoT solutions. Since graduating, she has worked as a NOC shift engineer at Equity Group and as an IT Audit Associate at KPMG East Africa. Her passion for leadership grew through various volunteer activities with organizations like the Red Cross, Share and AIESEC, culminating in different leadership roles. She served as a chairperson of Women in Technology (WIT) at JKUAT, then as a secretary of the IEEE JKUAT Chapter as well as an Executive Committee member for the Society of Engineering Students (SES). As a member of She Code Africa, she has actively participated in their bootcamps and community events. Gleris's work is aligned with SDG 4, which focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and SDG 5, which promotes gender equality. In her free time, Gleris enjoys baking, reading, creating animations, and hiking.
