Jeanine Botha
South Africa & Stellenbosch University, 2018 Jeanine Botha is currently fulfilling the role of director at Khula Learning Centre, a developmental support centre which she co-founded in 2019. Khula offers alternative education options for learners with additional learning needs. Through Jeanine Botha Consulting, Jeanine assists families with parenting strategies, developing and implementing behaviour plans for home or school, and creating individualised education plans to support children in the classroom. Jeanine graduated with B.Ed (Foundation Phase) degree in 2014, followed by her BA (Hon) Psychology and MA (Psychology), which she completed as a Mandela Rhodes Scholar in 2018. During her studies, Jeanine served on various committees, including the SRC Cultural and Transformation Committees, the Maties Equestrian Club Executive Committee and the Golden Key Executive Committee. She was also co-founder and vice-chairperson of the Operation Smile Stellenbosch Student Society. Jeanine served two terms as academic mentor in her residence and was also editor of her residence’s newspaper. She was the recipient of a Stellenbosch University Rector’s Award for Excellent Achievement in the category Service Provision in 2018. At postgraduate level, Jeanine presented her research at various conferences and has had articles published from her work. She has received various postgraduate bursaries, including the Huwisu Bursary to attend the Humboldt University Winter School in Berlin, a National Research Foundation (NRF) Scholarship and an Ithemba Foundation Research Bursary. Jeanine is also a qualified Pastry Chef and runs a home bakery, Flour Child Bakes, in her spare time.
