Luzelle Yon Lestrade
Namibia & Stellenbosch University, 2006 I survived breast cancer in 2018, at the age of 33. I share my story of hope and healing with others. I am blessed with two boys, who are my world -- no clichè! I left SA after 16 years, in 2018, to return 'home' to Namibia. I recently started working as Executive Director at an NGO for differently-able children, youth and families. The Walvis Bay Child and Family Centre, also known as Sunshine, is just that: a place of hope and strength for differently-able individuals. We cater for about 150 differently-able children and youth and about 30 'protective workforce individuals' who are also differently-able. Our programmes include ECD, special needs and livelihoods. I also work as a development consultant, currently attached to the Benguela Current Convention.
