Mariama Coneh
Gambia & University of Cape Town, 2025 Mariama holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of The Gambia (UTG), complemented by a diploma in Project Management funded by Freedom House and USAID. Mariama represented Africa at the Asia Pacific Youth Summit on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) organized by Studec International, where she connected with young leaders from diverse backgrounds to advance global development priorities. She is an alum of Aspire Leaders, a leadership development program for first-generation college students founded at Harvard University, which strengthened her commitment to impactful leadership. Her dedication to public service was recognized as a Mandela Washington Fellow, a prestigious program where she was placed in the Public Management track at Arizona State University. As a Moremi Fellow through the Institute of African Studies in Ghana, Mariama honed her leadership abilities within the African context, gaining insights into regional policymaking and advocacy. She aspires to be a parliamentarian at the National Assembly of The Gambia, advancing women's rights and championing inclusive governance for a better future.
