Muhammed Coker
Gambia & University of Cape Town, 2025 Muhammed is a social entrepreneur with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of The Gambia. Instead of pursuing a career in finance, Muhammed followed his passion for community development and green entrepreneurship. Growing up in a rural farming community, he saw how subsistence farming kept families in a cycle of poverty, barely surviving from one harvest to the next. He is the founder of the Agro Incubation Hub, a non-profit social enterprise focused on empowering youth and women smallholder farmers- training them to adopt climate-smart farming practices and promotes green entrepreneurship, helping them transition from subsistence farming to commercial agriculture. Muhammed’s mission is to uplift underprivileged farmers, who make up more than 50% of The Gambia’s agricultural labour force, by improving their financial stability and enabling them to invest in their children's futures.
