Mwansa Mwansa
Zambia & University of Pretoria, 2022 Mwansa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Zambia and a post graduate diploma in M&E from Cavendish University Zambia. In 2022, she plans to pursue an MSc Agricultural Economics with an aim to use her degree to transform the Zambian agriculture sector through sustainable policy reforms. Mwansa is a well-rounded professional with over 2 years of work experience in agricultural research and development work. Previously, she worked in Monitoring and Evaluation with the World Food Programme (WFP) and in research with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). She is also a fellow of the Young African Leadership Initiative Southern African Regional Leadership Centre (2019) and an active volunteer and a member of the Lusaka Global Shapers Hub. She is also a recipient of the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship grant (2018). Mwansa has held several leadership portfolios which include vice president of the University of Zambia School of Agriculture Sciences Student Association, impact officer of the Lusaka Global Shapers and Treasurer of the WFP staff association. Mwansa is a firm believer in the power of education to unlock human potential. She has been a literacy activist since 2016 partnering with various organisations and individuals to support literacy development in Zambia. She is also passionate about Agriculture, education and human development and hopes to one day live in a world in which Africa takes its rightful place in the global economy as an equal player.
