Kenya & Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, 2018 Erich’s professional background is in Public Health and Medical Nutrition Sciences. He also has a Master of Science Degree in Dietetics where he specialized in maternal infant and young child nutrition domain. For more than 6 years, Erich has worked with local and international stakeholders in the nutrition and food systems to help alleviate malnutrition, human suffering, hunger and disease among preschool children in underprivileged communities of Africa. He has interest in innovative approaches to behavior change communication in addressing stunting, wasting, underweight and other nutrition related problems in populations with devastating levels of poverty and inequality. Erich also has interest in research to establish strategies for promoting food security and nutrition to help address emerging nutrition challenges in Sub Saharan Africa. In this respect, he has published a paper in the peer reviewed journal: American Journal of Preventive Medicine and Public Health; Doi: 10.5455/ajpmph.20190818083641. Working with humanitarian organizations has enabled him to be part of lead teams in communities that provide public health solutions using innovative approaches localized to specific needs of the African communities. Erich is currently the Founder and Executive Director of Ndalo Heritage Trust; a non-profit organization in Kenya supporting small and medium enterprises through agribusiness interventions. The organization target UN SDG2 focusing on hunger eradication and the UN first 1000 days campaign in Kenya. Erich's work at Ndalo also address SDG3 (health and well-being) of children and their mothers in particular children with special needs.
