Rahma holds a bachelor’s degree in Community Development from Burao University in Somalia.

After her graduation she won an internship at Heritage Institute for Policy Studies.

Rahma combined her work experience with her studies and volunteered during her university days in many projects such as girls’ education and child protection project for Candlelight.

She then worked part-time as a Field Monitor for the Human Right Center and as an HR assistant in Ainabo local government.

Rahma has also worked as a social worker for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Center before she won the Mandela Rhodes Scholarship.
