Sarah recently completed her BA Honours in Economics from Rhodes University, South Africa.

She is interested in the potential economics has for social development and progress and looks forward to being a part of the field in South Africa and being a positive force for change.

She is an accomplished debater, representing South Africa at WUDC and winning several South African tournaments.

Sarah is also involved with debate coaching at a high school level, prioritising development in various schools, especially at under-resourced ones; she has coached for the regional and provincial leagues in the Eastern Cape.

She believes debating provides a space for community development and a learning opportunity to discover more about the world and build self-confidence.

Sarah is pursuing a master’s in commerce at WITS in Applied Economics for Development.
