Simon Mutungi
Uganda & Stellenbosch University, 2019 Experienced lawyer with a demonstrated history of working in the banking and finance industry. Skilled in commercial litigation, legal research, investigations and transactions' advisory related mainly to corporate and project finance. Currently, pursuing dual graduate degrees, that is, a PhD in FinTech Regulation from the University of Cape Town with a Fellowship at Yale University (as a Yale International Fox Fellow) as well as a Masters of Philosophy in Development Finance from Stellenbosch University Business School with a semester abroad at Université Laval- Canada (as a Mandela-Rhodes Fellow). Past qualifications include a license to practice in Ugandan Courts of Judicature and a Masters in Commercial Law from the University of Cape Town. Particularly interested (but not limited to) in corporate advisory, banking and finance work that leverages technology such as trading and investment; financial regulation (including RegTech), consultancy on public policy particularly that shaping competition/antitrust, innovation and financial inclusion through technology and micro finance as well as management consultancy. I love meeting people, hiking, actively play basketball, an avid Chicago Bulls fan and a Christian at heart.
