Takunda Chimutashu

Zimbabwe & South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance - Cape Town, 2025

Takunda holds a BSc Honours in Engineering from the Eastern Mediterranean University, in Cyprus.

He is the founder and Creative Director of Immortal African Studios and a co-founder and resident Film Director of ward-winning production house Visual Sensations Media in Zimbabwe.

Takunda is the executive producer of #Nofilter, a talk show that addressed topics women are often discouraged from discussing—such as sexual reproductive health and abuse.

He also directed the multi-award-winning documentary “Create Zim,” chronicling the journeys of artists to advocate for social justice.

Takunda the author of Docie Warrior, a comprehensive training guide for aspiring documentary filmmakers, designed them from beginners to experts.

He also published Becoming King, a semi-autobiographical account of his childhood, centered on leadership, responsibility, and activism in social, political, and environmental arenas.

His vision is to allow African artists to thrive off their passion and bring overlooked African stories to the global stage.
