Tumelo Matobo
Lesotho & University of Cape Town, 2025 Tumelo obtained a bachelor's degree in computer science from the National University of Lesotho and an Honours degree in Information Technology from the University of Cape Town. Tumelo was a Software Developer at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Lesotho, where she designs and develops systems aimed at empowering grassroots communities in healthcare delivery. Her work focused on creating technological solutions that improve access to medical services, particularly in underserved areas. Tumelo is an International Commissioner and Climate Change Advocacy Champion for the Lesotho Girl Guides Association, where she coordinates international activities and maintains global connections within the Guiding and Scouting community. She also volunteers with the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), contributing to global programs and recently served as a Community Relations Lead Volunteer in India, fostering connections between international volunteers and local communities. She is interested in addressing healthcare and educational disparities in her home country by combining her technical expertise with her passion for community development.
