Immediately prior to taking the opportunity to be a Mandela Rhodes Scholar, he was honing his skills, particularly in litigation as an intern at Dube, Manikai & Hwacha a Band 1 indigenous founded law firm in Zimbabwe. He also ran a small profitable outfit named Postwave Tiling Company, which he hopes to grow. To Wayne artisanship is a means for Africans to make good use of their talents and time. He enjoys a good round of soccer and playing acoustic guitar while singing hymns. He also enjoys classical literature; in fact, he asserts that Leo Tolstoy’s 1906 critical essay on Shakespeare is a prime example of how to present a difficult legal argument. Ultimately, Dlodlo believes that law can still be useful in quests for justice and hopes to develop into a worthy legal practitioner capable of serving his community. In light of this, he looks forward to studying a Master’s in law and participating in the scholarship's workshops as further preparation.
