GCILITSHANA, Sinoxolo

Sinoxolo Gcilitshana was born on December 11 1994 in Keiskammahoek, Eastern Cape. He received his primary and secondary education in Cape Town where grew up living in the informal settlements of Khayelitsha. In January 2013, after being rejected by a Cape Town university, he was invited by Professor Jonathan Jansen to study at the University of the Free State for free. It was after joining the UFS that he was introduced to new areas of leadership and developed a sense of living his student life selflessly. He became the first Head Student of a male residence in the history of the UFS to build an in-house library so his brothers from different faculties could grab a book to read during their free time.

Sinoxolo Gcilitshana is a Young African Leaders Initiative Civic Leadership graduate from the University Of South Africa School Of Business Leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Education in History and English. The former English and Social Science teacher is blessed with a beautiful daughter, Olothando Tshabe.
