Lansana Konneh
Sierra Leone & University of Cape Town, 2024 Lansana is on a lifelong mission to significantly reduce poverty in Sierra Leone and across Africa through business and human capital development using his problem-solving, analytical skills, and growth mindset. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (Honours) in International Business and Trade from the African Leadership University (ALU) in Rwanda. While at ALU, Lansana served as an academic peer mentor for the Learning Efficacy and Advancement Program, providing mentoring and academic support to peers. In line with his mission, Lansana was a business development assistant for Shanta Lana LLC, providing business growth opportunities and international business advisory. He also worked as a research and executive assistant for the Africa Context Advisory Partners, conducting industry research in ICT, African business market entry, and doing business in Africa. Lansana co-founded the Triple Knowledge Academy - an educational initiative that has empowered over 500 junior and senior high schoolers in Sierra Leone through academic competency, mentoring, and coaching programs. His passion for community service led him to become a Rotaractor in 2019, identifying innovative solutions to communities' most pressing challenges while developing leadership skills. Having served as a Club Service and membership director of the Rotaract Club of ALU Rwanda and a public relations director of the Rotaract Club of Kigali City, Lansana is a member of the Rotaract Club of Freetown, actively participating in community empowerment projects. He received the 2022 ALU Continuous Learning Award for actively seeking new challenges and new ways of learning. Lansana intends to pursue a Master's in Economic Development to investigate the impact of human capital development on poverty alleviation in Africa.
